My name is Otanis I live in Austin TX, I received my Montessori certificate for “Children’s House” (ages 3-6) online through “Colectivo el Colibri”. I highly recommend this institution and certificate, it has a great level, and it is very complete, not only because it trained me to make the Montessori presentations, but because it also prepared me in the process of accompanying the child without any prejudice or judgement. I took different classes that truly helped me understand the process to work as a Montessori Guide at the same time it helped me to complete my personal and professional growth. The teachers who I adore are highly trained, and were always there to help me with any questions and tutoring if I needed them. Lily de Haro is an excellent professional that makes this process and accompaniment even more complete.

For the past 3 years I’ve been Learning about the Montessori Method,
I crossed paths with Lily de Haro owner and director of FOMCI
Montessori couple years ago, I learned so much from her that I decided
to pursue and build my knowledge of the Method by getting certified
with one of the certifications they offer, she became my Mentor as I
worked at a Montessori preschool and attended classes every Friday for
the past 12 months. I recently got certified as a young children’s
community guide, I can’t express enough my gratitude towards the
Director and Guides that helped me understand children and fall in love
with the method even more. I learned to see the child as an explorer, to
Observe and understand the child’s needs, I also learned to set up an
environment where the child will become independent, autonomous
and where he’ll have everything at his level to help his development.
I learned “To follow the child” as Dr. Montessori said.

I received my certificate as a Children’s Montessori Guide for ages (3-6) from Colectivo el Colibri (now FOMCI Montessori) a few years ago, and I can truly say it changed my life not only personally but also professionally. The training is very rigorous and complete. As a mom it helped me to better understand my own children, by respecting their own individuality, gain confidence in themselves and allowed them to be autonomous and respectful towards each other. As a Montessori Guide it helped me to better understand the Montessori Method and sensibilization towards Children’s needs, I have been a Montessori Lead Guide for 5 years now and I feel fortunate to be able to follow Maria Montessori’s steps during this time I have witnessed the transformation of children becoming independent, creative thinkers and compassionate individuals. La formación es realmente bella. Contamos con videos de todas las presentaciones, sesiones semanales, apoyo con dudas posterior a que nos graduamos pero sobre todo es una formación centrada en la sensibilización y el autocuidado de nosotros mismos para poder Guiar con amor y respeto las infancias.
Sin duda la volvería a elegir por sobre todas las opciones que revisé anteriormente.
